Assistant Professor – Department of Public Management **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** **ABOUT THE COLLEGE** John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) and an internationally recognized leader in educating for justice. Led by President Karol V. The College seeks staff and faculty members who thrive in multicultural academic environments and are committed to access and excellence in higher education. **POSITION OVERVIEW** The Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics (FEFF) program within the Department of Public Management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice integrates knowledge of accounting with law, criminal, civil and social justice, and other related disciplines. The program offers students a Bachelor of Science in FEFF, undergraduate minors in fraud examination and accounting, and a certificate in forensic accounting. To continue growing this program, the Department of Public Management invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin possibly as early as Spring 2026. The successful candidate will have earned or be near completion of a Ph.D. Professional certification (such as a Certified Public Accountant) is a plus, but not mandatory. The successful candidate is expected to bring enthusiasm and demonstrated commitment to teaching; to maintain an active research and peer-reviewed publication agenda; and to engage in service to the program, department, and college community. Finally, the candidate will be responsible for teaching intermediate accounting, in addition other possible courses including but not limited to auditing; managerial accounting; and fraud examination and financial forensic analysis. The successful candidate will perform teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. They will also share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. The successful candidate must be eager and qualified to work with our diverse student body. ABDs will be considered, with the requirement that they complete their Ph.D. by August 2026. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated potential for scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** CPA certification; Professional experience; College teaching experience; Ability to teach accounting courses in a variety of instructional modalities. **COMPENSATION** $57,252 - $109,025. Salary commensurate with education and credentials.
