The WKU School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), in the Ogden College of Science & Engineering (OCSE), invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Construction Management beginning August 17, 2026. The responsibilities include teaching, research and service. The candidate is expected to have experience in residential and commercial construction. The responsibilities of this position include high quality teaching, student advising, engagement in research and dissemination of research results through publication. The candidate should also be able to teach both undergraduate courses and laboratories in at least three of the following areas with the capacity to grow in two other areas: Construction Methods and Materials, Estimating, Administration, Scheduling, Project Management, Contract Documents, Quality management, Capstone Projects, Equipment and Materials, Construction Law, Soil Mechanics, Infra-structure Construction, Building Structures, Construction Technology Lab, BIM, Engineering Economics, and MEP Systems. An ideal candidate will have industrial experience or teaching experience.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented environment. This individual will be expected to provide service to and support of WKU, OCSE, SEAS and the Construction Management program's mission of project-based education that is both effective and sustainable.
Job Requirements:
+ A Ph.D. in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related discipline. OR
+ A Masters in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related discipline plus a minimum of three years of industrial experience in construction.
