Position Summary:
The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) seeks applicants who are committed to supporting an innovative and collaborative workforce focused on identifying and translating scientific discoveries into medical advances for our patients, communities, and beyond. W ith a strong record of excellence, our faculty are conducting biomedical research, relying on a top-notch leadership team and operating within a vibrant scientific community within Palm Beach County, which is home to FAU, UF Scripps, Max Planck Florida Institute, and Life Sciences cluster. The Department of Biomedical Science at the College of Medicine is excited to announce new tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Due to our recent expansion, we are now seeking faculty members with active research in the fields of genetics, genomics, epigenomics, bioinformatics, biochemistry, cancer biology, immunology, tissue engineering, AI and machine learning. Applicants should be motivated to establish extramurally funded research programs targeted at biomedical science advances and mechanistic health-related research. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential to attract external funding, develop a strong teaching portfolio, educate medical students, graduate students and post-docs, and have strong interest in establishing transdisciplinary collaborations. Teaching experience and interest is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Individuals with an advanced degree in genomics, genetics, bioinformatics, AI/machine learning, cancer biology, biochemistry, immunology, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field are particularly encouraged to apply.
• A minimum of two (2) years in an academic post-doctoral position.
• A research program with a biological focus on biomedical advancements and/or disease-causing mechanisms leading to translational applications, with preference given to genetic and immunological disorders, cancer, and/or the application of genomic, epigenetic or tissue engineering approaches to disease.
• A demonstrated ability to implement the latest technologies.
• A track record of impactful publications and national and/or international presentations.
• An enthusiasm for leading and/or actively participating in collaborative projects that will contribute to a more personalized approach to medicine and prevention of disease.
• A commitment to engaging communities and delivering a positive impact through scientific outreach.
• An interest in contributing to innovative teaching in graduate and medical education and the important service missions of the College of Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leveraging large-scale biomedical/clinical datasets, genomics, multi-omics, bioinformatics, or artificial intelligence/machine learning.
• Documented success in funding and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Engagement in training and mentoring students.
