JOB DESCRIPTION:
UTMB BMB seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in computational biological physics. The appointee will build an independent program that uncovers the physical principles of cell, nuclear, and genome organization and gene regulation using polymer/statistical-mechanics modeling, molecular dynamics, and machine learning integrated with genomic data; will collaborate across experimental and computational groups; and will teach/mentor at the graduate level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Postdoctoral research experience in theoretical/computational structural biology, chromatin biophysics, or physical genomics with a peer-reviewed publication record commensurate with rank.
Evidence of effective collaboration and mentoring; commitment to inclusive education.
Clear potential to secure extramural funding and to contribute to graduate/undergraduate teaching.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience analyzing genomic data, including Hi-C and epigenomic data
Demonstrated track record of student mentorship
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
