Position OverviewThe Assistant Department Produce Manager is responsible in supporting the direction and supervision by the Department Produce Manager in all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure and support that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresAssists the Department Produce Manager with the successful operation of the departmentEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services providedShared responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the departmentReceives, stores and stocks a wide variety of productsWork directly with the Department Produce Manager in ordering product to meet the needs of the produce department based on past and projected salesPulls out of date product from the produce areasEnsures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintainedBe active involved with teaching, mentoring and educating associates to help them be successful members of the teamPerforms other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store ManagerConsistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendorsTravel Required:No
