Assistant Procurement Manager
**Job Profile: Assistant Procurement Manager** **Location:** Hilton Malta **Department:** Procurement **Reports To:** Procurement Manager - - - **Position Summary** The Assistant Procurement Manager supports the efficient and strategic operation of the Procurement function at Hilton Malta\. This role ensures that all purchasing activities are conducted in line with Hilton’s global standards, focusing on quality, value, and sustainability\. The position involves managing supplier relationships, optimising purchasing processes, supporting cost\-control initiatives, and ensuring seamless coordination between departments to maintain smooth hotel operations\. - - - **Key Responsibilities** **Procurement & Sourcing** + Support the Procurement Manager in sourcing, negotiating, and securing quality products and services at competitive prices\. + Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure all vendors meet Hilton’s quality, reliability, and ethical standards\. + Collaborate with department heads to anticipate needs, manage purchase requests, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services\. + Conduct regular market research to identify cost\-saving opportunities, alternative suppliers, and new product trends, particularly in the Food and Drink market\. + Support the Procurement Manager in sourcing operational equipment, capital expenditure goods, and services\. + Ensure all purchasing activities comply with brand standards, internal controls, and legal requirements\. **Inventory & Cost Control** + A proactive approach in coordination with relevant departments to ensure planning of requirements\. + Support the Cost Control team in analysing consumption patterns and identifying opportunities for savings\. ·Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and supplier performance\. ·Ensure the smooth operation of the procurement department’s daily activities by maintaining adequate inventory levels and adhering to established procedures\. **Sustainability & Compliance** + Promote responsible purchasing practices in line with Hilton’s _Travel with Purpose_ sustainability objectives\. + Source locally where possible to support the community and reduce environmental impact\. + Uphold ethical standards and ensure full compliance with company policies and audit requirements\. **Teamwork & Leadership** + Supervise and guide purchasing, receiving colleagues and loading bay operations\. + Collaborate closely with Finance, Culinary, Engineering, and Operations teams to meet departmental needs effectively\. + Deputise for the Procurement Manager as required, ensuring continuity and adherence to established standards\. - - - **Qualifications & Experience** + Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field\. + Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement within a 4 or 5\-star hotel environment\. + Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory processes, with working knowledge of Materials Control \(MC\) or similar procurement systems\. + Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills\. + Strong organisational ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem\-solving\. + High level of integrity and professionalism\. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and standard reporting tools\. - - - **What We Offer** + The opportunity to work within an iconic 5\-star property and a global hospitality leader\. + Career growth and professional development within Hilton’s international network\. + A collaborative, inclusive, and people\-focused work environment\. + Competitive compensation and benefits package\. **What will it be like to work for Hilton?** Hilton is the leading global hospitality company, spanning the lodging sector from luxurious full\-service hotels and resorts to extended\-stay suites and mid\-priced hotels\.
