Summary/Objective Assist the Principal in the administration of instructional leadership to staff including: curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensure a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere. Essential Functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions): * Serve as administrative head of school in the absence of the principal * Administer a program of student discipline and interact with students to encourage positive performance * Assist with staff evaluations * Assist in management of building staff, including class schedules and building problems * Assist in scheduling special events during the school day * Assist with the development and coordination of the master schedule * Provide general supervision to students * Supervise extracurricular activities * Maintain positive relationships with parents and the community Other Duties This job description is not a comprehensive listing of duties, responsibilities, or activities that are required of the employee for this job. Required Education and Experience Master's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution with completion of applicable coursework relative to obtaining a Principal, PreK-12 certificate through the Arizona Department of Education and three or more years of full-time teaching experience in PreK-Grade 12; or, any combination of education and experience that will allow the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of the position and obtain appropriate licensure through the State of Arizona. Required Certifications/Licenses * Arizona Standard Professional Principal, PreKindergarten-12 Certificate * Valid driver's license Preferred Education and Experience Administrative experience in a school environment Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal history check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
