Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel set to open in Q2 2026 will bring contemporary style and Laotian flair to the heart of the capital, just minutes from Wat Si Saket, Vientiane Night Market, and Chao Anouvong Park. The hotel’s 197 guest rooms and suites will blend modern design with local touches, offering its guests the choice of four dining venues, including an international all-day dining restaurant, a western comfort food concept and bar, and a Southeast Asian fine-dining restaurant. Guests will enjoy Avani Spa with five treatment rooms, an Avani Fit fitness centre and studio, an outdoor swimming pool, and versatile event spaces including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

Job Description

As Assistant People & Culture Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the hotel’s People strategy during the pre‑opening phase and beyond. Working closely with the Director of People & Culture and the property leadership team, you will help build a strong organizational culture, ensure compliance with Minor Hotels P&C standards, and create an engaging, supportive workplace for all team members.

Your role contributes directly to the hotel’s market launch, team readiness, and long‑term employee experience by developing talent pipelines, driving HR operations, and championing Avani+ brand values.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of the hotel’s People & Culture strategy aligned with Minor Hotels standards and Laos labour regulations.Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring all new team members receive a seamless and engaging pre‑opening induction experience.Coordinate HR administration including contracts, personnel files, HRIS updates, employee records, and compliance with corporate audit requirements.Support learning and development initiatives, collaborating with departmental leaders to deliver effective training, skills development, and competency assessments.Promote a high‑performance culture through employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and supportive communication channels.Assist in managing employee relations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary procedures with fairness, confidentiality, and a solutions‑focused approach.Contribute to hotel culture‑building initiatives, including CSR, community engagement, welfare activities, and brand‑aligned team‑member experiences.Maintain strong working relationships with external partners including government bodies, training institutions, and recruitment sources.Work closely with the Director of People & Culture to prepare P&C reports, dashboards, and updates for leadership review.Ensure all People & Culture practices support the hotel’s readiness for opening and smooth transition into operational excellence.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in HR, Learning & Development, or People & Culture roles, preferably within an international hotel brand.Strong knowledge of HR operations, employment regulations, recruitment best practices, and employee relations management.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to engage confidently with team members at all levels.Demonstrated ability to support pre‑opening or fast‑paced operational environments is highly advantageous.High level of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and cultural awareness.Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems; experience with HRIS platforms is an advantage.Passion for people‑centric leadership and a strong commitment to team development, engagement, and wellbeing.Fluency in English and either Lao or Thai required.Previous relevant experience in Southeast Asia strongly preferred.
