The Assistant Operations Supervisor is the candidate responsible for production, shipping and sanitation operations of the White Castle Bakery during the absence of the Operation Supervisor. This candidate will typically work during different hours than the Operations Supervisor for the purpose of having adequate management coverage during plant operations. The duties include, but are not limited to, human relations, production, quality assurance, safety, sanitation, scheduling (production and people), training and developing of employees.
What we are looking forHigh School diploma or equivalent and must have completed AIB Principals of Baking;Good interpersonal and human relations skills;Previous training and experience in the baking industry;Knowledge of baking, sanitation, quality control and safety obtained by both education and experience;The ability to positively motivate others and assume leadership role;Ability to lead by example, work calmly under pressure and tight deadlines, accept responsibility well and be willing to learn;Must be able to make decisions concerning personnel problems, production, sanitation, and shipping during assigned shift. What you will doSupervise bun production to ensure that quality buns are produced and packaged in the most efficient and cost-effective way;Supervision of the Production Lead people and their essential functions to ensure that goals and objectives are met;Assist the Operations Supervisor in the Supervision of the Sanitation Department to ensure proper sanitation of facilities and equipment, proper employee hygiene, and that employee good manufacturing practices are followed;Train and develop the Production and Shipping team members regarding their essential functions, safety and GMP’s;Prepare team member appraisals, disciplinary warnings, newsletter articles, food safety inspections, and safety inspections;Provide direction, guidance, and leadership to direct reports and/or assigned team(s), ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities, and effectively manage their performance;Provide guidance and leadership on proper company procedures that are aligned with White Castle’s Mission, Vision, and Values;Recognize good performance and counsel when appropriate;Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a wet slippery environment with occasional exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, smoke, cleaners, and other elements; Ability to wear safety gear including safety glasses, and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company;Prolong periods of standing, sitting, and walking;Frequent bending, turning, twisting, stooping, and lifting;Ability to lift 60 to 70 lb. blocks of meat (unassisted/assisted), pallets, etc. pushing tubs and carts; andAbility to hear, comprehend, and professionally respond inquiries, comments, and concerns.Can you say #dreamjob!?!
