Here, you will work in tandem with physicians and other health care practitioners to provide superior, nursing care. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** · Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination · Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present · Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations · Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments · Oversees patient placement and throughput · Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs) · Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care · Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice · Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups · Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations · Provides “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications · Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills · Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** · 2 years of current or recent Surgical nursing experience · Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State **ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST** UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
