Cleveland Clinic’s G91 Pulmonary Stepdown Unit is a 32-bed, fast-paced, and high-acuity unit specializing in the care of patients with acute pulmonary conditions — including pulmonary embolisms, tracheostomies, and ventilator support.

We’re seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) who is passionate about mentorship, teamwork, and clinical excellence. G91 offers a collaborative environment where experienced and new caregivers work side by side, creating an ideal setting to develop leadership skills and guide others in delivering world-class care. A caregiver in this role works nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am. Every other Saturday or Sunday and every other holiday. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide clinical supervision and coordinate unit clinical operations under the direction of the Nurse Manager.  

Supervise and participate in delivering patient care, ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, and coordinate patient admitting, discharges and transfers. 

Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions, monitor attendance issues and review major operational patient care issues with the Nurse Manager.  

Interview, select and orient new caregivers.  

Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.  

Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.  

Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing 

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)  

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross 

*If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment 

Two years of recent clinical nursing experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
