Our structural and interventional cardiologists have years of experience performing complicated interventional cardiology procedures to treat complex heart and vascular conditions, from angina (chest pain) to more serious conditions such as heart attack and mini-stroke. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for Interventional Cardiology, you will provide clinical supervision and coordinate unit operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This role involves ensuring effective and efficient patient care across all age groups during assigned shifts or as designated. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, you will assume leadership responsibilities to maintain continuity of care and operational excellence. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible.

This position offers the opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all service lines, supporting professional growth toward roles such as Nurse Manager. Team members are encouraged to participate in shared governance, unit-based committees and GLLI development. Additional support is provided through the AMN residency program, fostering both clinical and leadership development. 

A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with weekend, on-call and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide clinical supervision and coordinates unit clinical operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

Provide effective and efficient patient care to all ages on assigned shifts or as otherwise designated.

Assume responsibilities of nurse manager in his/her absence.

Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care.

Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues.

Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.

Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area.

Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions, collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.

Alert nurse manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.

Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.

Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.

Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures.

Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area.

Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.

Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives

Participate in department and committees as assigned.

Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Two years of recent clinical nursing experience

Past procedural experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
