Now, the Neurological Institute is expanding with a new state-of-the-art facility which will include additional operating rooms and ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG and sleep and brain study services. As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will monitor the daily operations of the Oncology outpatient clinic at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus and provide professional nursing care to cancer patients. Assistant Nurse Managers oversee RNs, LPNs, MAs and other patient care providers to ensure that cancer patients are receiving the best care possible.  

 

A caregiver in this position works M-F| 7:00am - 5:30pm| first 90 days, then once will move to 4 –10-hour shifts| No Holiday or Weekends| May work on 3rd Saturday of the month if there are call offs.  
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in the clinical setting. 

Coordinate activities to ensure quality and safe patient care. 

Anticipate and resolve patient care and personnel issues. 

In conjunction with the clinical manager, ensure maintenance of annual staff competencies and continuing education.  

Perform duties of the RN Ambulatory as needed.  

Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.   

Participate and/or coordinate committees, task forces, and continuous improvement activities. 

Participate in department leadership meetings.  

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.    

Assume responsibilities of the clinical manager as needed. 

Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new caregivers, annual performance reviews and performance improvement.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)  

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross   

Two years of recent RN experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Supervisory experience 


Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
