Assistant Nurse Manager

As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) at Westlake (MOB) Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will provide clinical supervision to nursing personnel within diagnostic and therapeutic service departments and deliver care to hospitalized patients. With a strong focus on professional development and success, you will encourage caregivers to grow their skills and elevate the patient's experience through targeted improvement initiatives and incentives. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, you will also take on their responsibilities to ensure continuity of leadership and care. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. **A caregiver in this role works days from 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. + Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. + Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. + Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area. + Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions, collaborate in monitoring attendance issues. + Alert nurse manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. + Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees. + Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines. + Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures. + Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area. + Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts. + Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives + Participate in department and committees as assigned. + Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) + Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursin + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) + Two years of recent clinical nurse experience + Strong clinical knowledge and skills Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Ambulatory experience + 2 years of OR RN experience is strongly preferred.
