Marymount Hospital’s 5th Floor Complex Medicine Unit is our most recently reopened inpatient unit, offering a fresh, energized environment where your voice and ideas matter. This 12-bed telemetry unit cares for adult medical-surgical patients with multiple comorbidities, giving you frequent opportunities to sharpen assessment skills, recognize subtle changes, and strengthen clinical judgment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Marymount Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consists of 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods and was designed for high acuity patients who need critical care and are being treated for serious medical conditions. Some of the most common procedures in this unit include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia. 

As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. 

A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide direction and support to the unit staff and supervise admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans.Evaluate and document patient progress.Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.Serve as a liaison between the manager, staff and other areas within the organization.Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage.Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.Participate in department and committees as assigned.Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross  Two years of recent clinical nursing experience  Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Leadership experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
