Your Role:
The Assistant Merchant supports the Merchant/Leader, in delivering the volume and growth expectations of a book of business, through comprehensive management of collections, and understanding and applying their financial acumen. They are the subject matter expert in areas including, but not exclusive of, assortment content, SKU management, testing initiatives, competitive intelligence, and customer intimacy. Influences team by sharing opportunities to drive the business.

Strategy
Partners with the Merchant/Leader in driving the International brand businesses by connecting financial patterns and market insights to identify white space and growth opportunities. Contributes to the success of the category through replicating and adapting brand strategies in markets around the world while meeting or exceeding the financial goals. Provides recommendations and gains alignment from merchant leaders to influence work streams of cross-functional teams to support key initiatives Leads day to day communication with domestic merchants Acts as the international category expert in key brand & cross-functional meetingsProduct
Supports the merchant/leader in delivering financial objectives and maximizing volume/profit Manages market assortment edits and suggests distortions based on performance Understands customer intimacy and competitive environment; proactively seeking knowledge through exposure and travel to market Owns sample requests and management. Drives the communication of product detail to cross functional partners Supports key meetings through deck preparation and completion of ad hoc requests, always staying agile and flexible.Financial
Supports Merchandising team by being subject matter expert in areas including, but not limited to: system utilization, data entry and assortment documents. Manages assortment data in the MAT tool, tracks changes and maintains accuracy throughout milestones to ensure deliverables are met. Maintains assortment sheets and other documents based on changes and updates made to systems. Supporting Monday reporting and analysis based on business needs. Analyzes, interprets, and reports financial results on a weekly basis to influence business strategy Understands product sales trends and historical data at the category level in order to manage in season opportunities Acts as the expert of store/regional performance by analyzing size and market trends and making appropriate recommendationsCollaboration, Communication and Partner Support
Builds productive relationships with US Brand counterparts to facilitate exchange of information, share best practices, and stay abreast of assortment strategy updates. Minimum Salary: $65,000.00Maximum Salary: $83,685.00
VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.
QualificationsYour Experience:
0-2 years Retail experience preferred. Open minded and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent communication, prioritization and problem solving skills. Ability to be a team player and to foster a commitment to teamwork among associates. Ability to adapt well to diverse audiences and environments.
