Material Planner Assistant
Job Summary: The Material Planner Assistant is responsible for supporting the establishment, review, and maintenance of the master production schedule in alignment with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) consensus plan. This individual will be a team member of the Thermo King Aftermarket Parts division and will provide daily support to the manufacturing floor by releasing orders generated by Material Requirements Planning (MRP). They will assist with inventory functions in the manufacturing area to meet customer demands and maintain factory metrics. On-time delivery and Fill Rate goals are the primary focus.
This role has been identified by the company as safety sensitive.
Salary Range: $28 - $34
What you will do:
Manage cycle count, inventory adjustments, and root cause analysis to prevent inventory errors.
Manage routing updates to align with packaging requirements.
Resolve inventory-related questions and issues.
Maintain hour by hour reporting of packaging times.
Answer questions from customer service on part ETA’s.
Assist in planning and releasing manufacturing jobs using Oracle MRP systems.
Expedite work orders.
Review production requirements to support manufacturing.
Build job packets with the travelers released along with the drawings needed for production.
Drive part deliveries on “purchased part” and “make part” shortages.
Assist in closing completed WIP jobs and fixing any issues that prevent the closing of completed jobs.
Create and maintain run-out lists.
Assist in creating and maintaining the Master Schedule and late job list.
Support the purchasing of MRO parts for the manufacturing area.
Participate in process improvement tasks.
Support plant lean, safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts.
Provide backup support to the Material Planner of the manufacturing area.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma or GED
3 years of experience in one or more (or combination of) the following functional areas: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Materials Management, or Logistics.
MRP systems experience (Oracle preferred).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency in working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
Experience working in a Lean environment.
