Assistant Manager - Project Management

You will be the Key contact to assist project managers in Asia Pacific and Fisher Chennai Engineering Center. We value autonomy, self-reliance, fast movers, a passion for robust and maintainable tests, and above all, the ability to ship a quality product. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** The Assistant Project Manager, where assigned, has the overall responsibility to support the project quotation, implementation and execution of large, highly complex and multi-national projects as dictated below. This includes having a complete understanding of the project scope and requirements and having ownership for timely delivery, profitability, and margin uplift.Owns the overall execution of the project according to the Project Plan developed by the Project Manager with the goal of on-time to committed date + Manages and implements projects in compliance to company standard procedures and process + Ensures compliance to and fulfillment of project contractual technical specification, commercial terms, and conditions. + Ensures achievement of profit margin forecast for assigned projects. + Upfront participation with sales team in project proposal stage. + Responsible for project status, performance and forecasting reporting to internal and external customers through ought the execution. + Reviews contract to determine the documentation requirements and coordinates with the respective team members to ensure customer contract requirements are met. + Ensures project documents are accurately prepared by project group/ team + Works closely with internal project pipe teams to ensure timely and quality submission of vendor documentation. + Effectively provides leadership for a comprehensive project team consisting of project administration, order administration, engineering and plant project personnel who are responsible for executing portions of the project. + Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. + Leads internal and external communication meetings to ensure alignment. Lead the customer post award meeting when the order is committed. Lead the Internal Kick-Off meeting to resolve all open issues and provide clarity on the execution plan. Coordinate the inspection meetings. + Effectively manages change orders for an improved financial performance of the project + Performs Risk management to minimize project risks. + Monitors and controls projects from Award to Closure ensuring the project deliverables are met. + Interfaces and continuously communicate with the Customer, Contractor and LBP throughout the life of the project to provide updates, milestones, and progress **Who You Are:** You have a flare for process improvement and thrive highest quality standard. Works collaboratively with project managers and Factory personals to resolve conflicts if it may arise. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + In depth knowledge of control valve products and Bill of material processing + Knowledge on Fisher products and accessories would be a plus + Minimum 12 years experience in control valves engineering/Project management + Should be PMP certified. + Good understanding of product specifications and Incoterms + Develop and present innovative solutions for problems if they may arise. + Optimizes work processes and improves performance metrics + Awareness of other Emerson products & Good knowledge of Inactive/obsolete/Competitor products **Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:** + Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering. + Strong interpersonal skills + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Ready to take up any new challenges. + Time management, Problem Solving and decision making Skills **Our Culture & Commitment to You** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
