A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Assistant Manager / Manager to join our growing mtu business in Rolls-Royce Singapore.
As an Assistant Manager / Manager, you will provide second-level technical support services for Rolls-Royce Power Systems supplied mtu products across complex electrical and automation control systems, including microgrids, EnergetiQ solutions, diesel systems, gas systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems, within the Asia Pacific region.

The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities
Provide second-level technical support for diesel and gas control systems (including BR4000, BR2000, BR1600), and Battery Energy Storage Systems, focusing on electrical, electronic, and automation systems (including Foxbat, EnergetiQ, Dive) and software support.Participate in project technical specification meetings for engineering reviews, validation activities, feasibility studies, and commissioning deliverables.Troubleshoot complex issues related to automation, electrical systems, and electronic controls.Perform risk assessments for commissioning scopes and ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.Collaborate with the field engineering team ("Flying Doctor" team) and Engineers or Technicians for onsite work execution, ensuring that qualifications and performance standards are met.Work closely with the Project Teams to manage daily planning during commissioning phases, addressing interface issues and ensuring adherence to project-specific requirements.Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, both remotely and on-site when necessary.Act as Case Owner for monitoring Customer Communication Center tickets and provide technical support to Asia Pacific subsidiaries, distributors, and service partners.Troubleshoot and optimize plant operations to meet customer-specific technical requirements and enhance technical availability.Document all defects, corrective measures taken, and related data using service tools and Microsoft Office applications.Independently develop technical solutions in collaboration with the Global Service and Research and Development teams based at the manufacturing plants.Support Spare Parts and Service Sales teams by providing technical clarifications and assisting in spare parts identification and commercial discussions.Advise and support the Service Sales organization in service and maintenance matters.Manage technical clarifications for system conversions, implementations, and modifications based on technical service bulletins.Define and coordinate corrective actions for field issues in collaboration with Technology and Quality teams.Analyze and assess defects to determine if they are warrantable or chargeable to the customer.Undertake occasional business travel for project coordination, commissioning, and customer engagement activities.Qualifications
Minimum a Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.At least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with diesel or gas power generator control systems, or with Original Equipment Manufacturer generator sets.Experience in the testing and commissioning of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchboards and power generators is preferred.Licensed Electrical Worker license (Grade 7, 8, or 9) would be an advantage.Strong capability in testing and calibrating diesel and gas generator control panel systems.Experience supporting third-party electrical switchboard suppliers and understanding switchboard components and system troubleshooting.Familiar with the testing procedures of diesel and gas generator sets, as well as relevant standards and regulations such as Singapore Standards (SS), International Organization for Standardization ISO 3046, and ISO 8528.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Highly independent, proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player.Why Join US?
