Oversee the finance function for five distinct entities within the Clinical & Commercial Pharma Division, ensuring all month-end processes are completed accurately and on schedule.
Approve payments in accordance with group policy, including payroll bank files, maintaining rigorous compliance standards across all transactions. Assist senior finance staff with both internal and external audit requirements by preparing documentation and responding promptly to queries. Support operations and commercial teams by providing ad hoc financial analysis as required to inform project delivery or commercial decisions. Manage accruals and prepayments processes efficiently to ensure accurate reflection of costs within each reporting period. Participate in regular review calls with HR, payroll, and project managers as a trusted finance partner, contributing valuable insights into financial performance. What you bring:
You should demonstrate reliability under pressure by meeting tight deadlines without compromising accuracy; show empathy when supporting non-finance stakeholders; display sensitivity when handling confidential information; exhibit flexibility when adapting to changing priorities; maintain dependability through consistent delivery; foster inclusivity by sharing knowledge generously; nurture positive relationships through polite interactions; contribute enthusiastically during team discussions; uphold honesty in all dealings; remain considerate towards others’ perspectives; support collective goals over individual achievement; value training opportunities that further enhance your technical expertise; embrace hybrid working arrangements that promote both productivity and wellbeing.
Part-qualified or actively studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA qualifications is essential for this position as it demonstrates your commitment to professional development within accountancy. Proven experience managing accruals and prepayments processes is required so you can confidently handle these critical aspects of month-end reporting. Demonstrable knowledge of accrued and deferred revenue principles ensures you can accurately reflect income streams over appropriate periods. Experience working with multiple entities and profit & loss accounts equips you to manage complex organisational structures effectively. Project accounting experience is highly valued as it enables you to provide meaningful analysis on specific initiatives or commercial projects. Familiarity with internal and external audit processes is desirable so you can assist senior staff during audit cycles efficiently. Understanding of VAT regulations would be advantageous given the cross-border nature of the role’s responsibilities. Previous exposure to CSO business environments is considered beneficial but not mandatory for success in this position.
