This role plays a key part in ensuring our fleet is safe, compliant, and ready to serve our customers each day. **What You’ll Do** + Ensure full compliance with Waste Connections’ safety programs and standards. + Support a collaborative, team‑oriented shop environment. + Oversee and assist with the training of Mechanics and PM Mechanics. + Maintain regulatory compliance across all applicable agencies and requirements. + Manage fleet inventory, parts ordering, and equipment maintenance processes. + Provide guidance to Mechanics on proper diagnostic and repair methods. + Schedule and assign work to shop personnel. + Coordinate with outside vendors for repairs when needed. + Road‑test or evaluate vehicles to diagnose issues and verify repairs. + Prepare purchase orders and source competitive pricing for parts and services. + Assist with monthly projections and support the annual budget process. + Maintain department costs within budgeted guidelines. **What You Bring** + 3+ years of maintenance experience in truck, light equipment, or heavy‑equipment repair, including CNG engines (waste industry experience a plus). + Strong knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems. + Ability to train, coach, and motivate maintenance staff. + Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills. + Working knowledge of DOT compliance. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems efficiently. + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. **To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.wasteconnections.com .
