**Job Title: Assistant Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
Assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment, monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and output, load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines, perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery, inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisors, maintain accurate production records, and follow safety protocols. Support other production tasks as needed.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment.
+ Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and output.
+ Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
+ Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery.
+ Inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisors.
+ Maintain accurate production records and follow safety protocols.
+ Support other production tasks as needed.
+ Operate machinery such as extruders, laminating machines, press, and slitter machines.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
+ Ensure the production of products and services meet or exceed customer expectations.
**Essential Skills**
+ Former industrial experience.
+ Knowledge of machinery functions.
+ Basic computer and math skills.
+ Forklift and clamp truck operations (training provided).
+ Proficient in communicating in English (both verbal and written).
+ Ability to work well in a team environment.
+ Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in machine operating.
+ Experience as an extruder operator.
+ Experience working on laminating machines.
+ Experience with assembly, general labor, general production, and hand tools.
+ Experience with forklift, packing, picking, RF scanner, packaging, and pick.

**Work Environment**
The work environment involves machine operating and/or forklift operating in a hot and loud setting due to rewind machines. Candidates will be cross-trained on multiple machines and will run multiple different lines. Available shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, with most 3rd shift positions potentially running 12-hour shifts. The 2nd shift operates from 3 PM to 11 PM, and the 3rd shift from 11 PM to 7 AM or 12 AM to 8 AM, running from Sunday to Thursday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Doswell, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
