The Role
The Clayfield is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the daily operations of the Housekeeping department during an exciting pre-opening phase and beyond. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, this leadership role will help oversee housekeeping and laundry operations while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the hotel.
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will play an important role in supporting team leadership, colleague training, operational organization, and quality assurance while helping establish the department’s culture, standards, and workflows from the ground up. This role requires a highly organized and service-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
What You’ll Do
Support the daily housekeeping and laundry operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and spa support areas Assist in maintaining luxury-level cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the property Supervise, support, and motivate housekeeping colleagues while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and pride in presentation Assist with colleague training, onboarding, coaching, and performance development Conduct room inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure consistency and attention to detail Support scheduling, labor planning, productivity tracking, and operational organization Assisting Housekeeping Manager with budget preparation Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and guest room readiness Assist with linen, terry, uniform, and housekeeping supply inventory controls Support implementation of SOPs, departmental procedures, and inspection standards Respond to guest requests, operational needs, and service recovery situations professionally and efficiently Assist with pre-opening activities including room set-up, operational readiness, training, and department organization Support opening, soft-opening, and ongoing operational initiatives as required Act as the department lead in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager when requiredWhat You Bring
2–4+ years’ experience in housekeeping leadership or supervisory roles, ideally within luxury or upscale hotels Strong operational knowledge of housekeeping procedures, laundry operations, and cleanliness standards Previous experience leading or supporting housekeeping teams in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail with a hands-on and floor-focused leadership style Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities Professional communication skills with a collaborative and guest-focused approach Ability to maintain high service and presentation standards under pressure Comfortable working in a pre-opening and evolving operational environment Experience with scheduling, inspections, and operational reporting is considered an assetWhy Join Us
