As Assistant General Counsel – Litigation (AGC) you will have broad responsibility for managing Ecolab’s litigation and claims portfolio, including developing and implementing successful processes and strategies related to product liability and complex commercial disputes, class actions, multi-district litigation, trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, and investigations. You will also proactively support dispute risk mitigation projects and provide strategic counsel on dispute risks to help advance Ecolab’s strategy and protect the Company.
Reporting to the Chief Counsel – Litigation and AI Governance, you will have responsibility for supporting and evolving Ecolab’s North American litigation strategy and effectively managing and resolving the Company’s litigation matters. You will be an experienced litigator with a depth of experience in a variety of dispute resolution matters relevant to a global company of the scale and size of Ecolab, relied upon for your expertise in dispute resolution as well as your ability to approach complex matters with a strategic, business-minded, and results-oriented lens. You must also be an excellent communicator and collaborator, and advisor to the Company, and will be expected to responsibly integrate technology, including AI, into the management of Ecolab’s litigation and claims portfolio.
This position is located at Ecolab’s Global Headquarters downtown St Paul, MN (Hybrid)
What You Will Do:
Support the management of Ecolab’s portfolio of complex litigation matters, pre-litigation disputes, and investigations across diverse substantive areas, including but not limited to product liability, complex commercial disputes, class actions, and trade secrets and restrictive covenant mattersEngage in all aspects of the litigation and dispute process, including developing strategy, partnering with outside counsel, reviewing pleadings, preparing for depositions, defending third party subpoena depositions, managing discovery processes, preparing and executing trial and appellate strategy, and assessing risk and working closely with our risk management teamManage customer disputes process and operationCollaborate with law department colleagues on dispute-resolution and litigation-avoidance mattersProvide direction, strategy, legal advice, and training to the Company on dispute resolution issues impacting Ecolab’s imperatives and operationsWork collaboratively with business partners and law department colleagues to ensure goal alignment on major projects, legal and business strategies, resources, and communicationsEfficiently manage and improve processes related to outside legal counsel budget, work, and costMinimum Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.Six years of litigation experience gained in-house and/or at a law firm, handling complex litigation matters, including but not limited to, class actions, commercial litigation, and investigationsBar Admission: Must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, or California (or eligible for admission to one of those State Bars within a reasonable time following the commencement of the position)Preferred Qualifications:

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $162,100.00 - $243,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentives based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
