We are seeking an experienced Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee the operational infrastructure and physical environment of our clients 5-story 160K sq ft corporate campus located in downtown on the east side of Austin. Working closely with the JLL Regional Workplace Manager and the clients Workplace Experience Team, you will ensure optimal facility operations, maintenance protocols, and building systems performance while creating exceptional workplace experiences.
Work Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (slightly flexible) with occasional need to adjust for events/projects.Key Responsibilities:Technical Facilities Operations
Oversee all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and security infrastructureImplement preventative maintenance programs and monitor building automation systemsEnsure efficient space utilization and manage facility-related equipment inventoriesConduct regular building condition assessments and develop remediation plansLead energy management initiatives and sustainability practicesWorkplace Experience Support
Collaborate with the Workplace Experience team to create optimal working environmentsProvide facilities expertise and logistical support for company events, town halls, and special programsCoordinate space reconfigurations for workplace activities and team gatheringsEnsure timely setup and teardown of event equipment, furniture, and AV systemsSupport workplace initiatives by maintaining environments that enhance employee experienceTroubleshoot facilities-related issues during events to ensure seamless executionFacilities Team Management
Supervise maintenance technicians, engineers, and facilities support personnelCoordinate training on building systems, equipment operation, and safety protocolsDirect maintenance workflows and prioritize critical systems repairsEstablish performance metrics for facilities team members and technical contractorsVendor & Contract Management
Manage service contracts for critical building systems and equipmentOversee preventative maintenance schedules with technical service providersEvaluate vendor performance against SLAs and technical specificationsNegotiate service agreements focusing on operational performance metricsManage relationships with building engineers, maintenance contractors, and security vendorsCompliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standardsConduct facility risk assessments and implement technical safety programsMaintain technical documentation for all building systems and equipmentLead emergency response procedures for facility-related incidentsManage fire/life safety systems testing and compliance certificationProject Management
Direct facilities improvement projects and systems upgradesOversee technical aspects of space modifications and infrastructure enhancementsProvide engineering expertise for workplace renovations and equipment installationsDevelop technical specifications for facilities projects and capital improvementsFinancial Management
Analyze facilities operating expenses with focus on mechanical systems costsDevelop maintenance budgets based on equipment lifecycle planningIdentify energy efficiency opportunities and building system optimizationPrepare capital expenditure requests for critical infrastructure investmentsKey Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent3+ years of hands-on experience managing commercial building operations and systemsDemonstrated knowledge of building mechanical/electrical systems and maintenance practicesExperience supporting workplace events and space activationsExperience supervising maintenance technicians and facilities personnelProficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Understanding of building codes, OSHA regulations, and facility compliance requirementsStrong technical problem-solving skills and hands-on facilities management approachCertifications such as FMP, CFM, or technical systems credentials preferredMilitary service or higher education in a related field such as business, hospitality, facility/property management is desirablePlease submit your application with an updated resume, location, and contact information.
