As a senior coastal modeller, you will be a part of AtkinsRéalis RDMC team with a focus on Coastal/maritime business and will apply your knowledge and experience in developing of 2D and 3D coastal models and computational analysis for a range of coastal applications. You will get opportunity to work on worldwide projects with special focus on UK, Middle East regions on various tasks of coastal processes including wave modelling, hydrodynamics, Storm surge analysis, dredge plume, sediment transport, Water exchange, shoreline modelling and other related studies.

Requirements

Candidate must have a degree in MSc/M. Tech in Coastal / Ocean Engineering/Physical Oceanography.Candidate should have minimum 10 Years of Experience working in Coastal modelling projects.Must be familiar with DHI MIKE 21, MIKE3 Modules like MIKE21 SW, HD, LITPACK, MIKE3 Wave FM, wave run-up and overtopping assessment.Hands-on Experience with DELFT3D, SWAN and other coastal modelling software’s.Knowledge in MATLAB, Python, Fortran.Candidate should have good Technical maritime/civil/coastal engineering knowledge as well as design experience of breakwaters, Groynes, Seawalls, Dredging and Reclamation and other maritime structures.Familiar in working with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards.

Responsibilities

Support AtkinsRéalis coastal modelling capability.Data acquisition and analysis for Met-ocean Studies.Development of Regional and Local scale of models.Technical Lead for coastal modeling team on delivery of modelling projects including result analysis, report writing, presentation, optioneering and recommending ideal solutions.Liaise with wider team to achieve outcomes as per Client needs and specifications.Knowledge on coastal engineering design such as revetments and shore protection would be preferred.Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.Liaise with and support others across the wider UK home and international markets.

The Individual

Track record in leading modelling studies using commercial software packages such as MIKE, DELFT3D, SWAN etc.Excellent Report writing and verbal skills, ability to produce high quality reports and advise on modelling/coastal subjects.Analytical ability, proactive approach, and attention to detail.Successful delivery of modelling projects to budget and schedule.Experience in using drafting tools (AutoCAD) and GIS for pre-processing and post-processing of the modelling.Chartered / Incorporated Civil Engineer professional preferred.Knowledge on Vessel maneuvering, navigation studies, water quality modelling are an added advantage.Commercial abilities (business development) and liaising with Clients, stakeholders and external parties, if needed.
