The Assistant eCommerce Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team dedicated to online sales operations. This includes team development, strategic planning and execution, customer experience optimization, maintaining strong relationships with partners and vendors (both internal and external), and managing account metrics across multiple eCommerce platforms, with the primary goal of driving online revenue.A significant portion of their time is dedicated to managing day to day operations to meet production targets, all while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Job Description
Essential Functions
E-Commerce OperationsMonitors daily operations and performance of e-commerce team. Proactively addresses and follows up with all operational concerns. Understands and manages leading indicators to ensure lagging indicators are met. Advises Manager on significant trends and variances. Develops and implements action plans once approved.Examines applicable marketplace metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Develops and implements (with Manager approval) plans to grow and protect the business based on analysis.Proactively forecasts sales and site needs within budgets, which would include the management of payroll, supplies, and professional fees budgets where applicable.Utilizes reports to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions within the site.Ensures critical internal and external customer-supplier connections are identified, understood, and managed in a way that ensures customer needs are being met and flow is balanced. Where connections are not healthy, identifies root causes and rapidly implements countermeasures where practical.Develops, documents and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize processes, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance.Regularly reviews and updates department policies and procedures to align with best practices, operational needs and compliance standards.Leads and implements key operational projects focused on efficiency, quality and productivity.Monitors and evaluates project progress, ensuring objectives, deadlines and quality standards are met. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement. Ensures a system of hazard (or problem) identification and elimination is maintained that is focused on hazards to achievement of operational goals and objectives. Drives improvement in sales and operating margins through sales growth initiatives, productivity improvements, and expense reduction initiatives. Ensures all site-specific supplies are on hand for daily business operation and processes/systems are in place and being maintained.Appearance/Housekeeping: Ensures department meets acceptable standards.Demonstrates strong department safety program leadership through hazard elimination, audits, enforcement of facility expectations, and strong safety training and awareness programs. Ensures compliance with OSHA expectations.Creates and maintains a positive atmosphere of encouragement, motivation, and high morale within the department.Ensures the department maintains staffing levels required to achieve the facility's budget.Ensures daily department goals/objectives are met (and fills-in for Associates as needed).Provides coaching and training to hourly employees.Involved in hourly associate recruitment process including pre-screening and interviewing candidates as needed.Staff Management and DevelopmentResponsible for department Associates, including both full-time and part-time employees. Note: employee mix could include virtual employees.Ensures all Associates are provided and have completed all training required to perform their jobs, and the training is completed appropriately. Ensures training processes and systems are maintained and continuously improved to enable goal achievement in a high-attrition environment.Actively identifies and eliminates or countermeasures barriers to goal attainment.Manages a diverse workforce in a principle-based environment.Maintains a positive culture of open professional communication, immediate resolution of issues, and healthy confrontation.Plans, organizes, and directs all activities of department associates including recruiting, training and developing, maintaining accountability, motivating, monitoring productivity, communicating, and managing performance. Also works closely with them to remove any significant work barriers.Ensures employee performance feedback is provided in a timely manner, and all required performance reviews are completed on time.Seeks out opportunities for professional development for both self and department associates.Other duties as assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED highly preferred.Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in:Production or donation processing operations in retail, manufacturing, or logistics environments.Supervisory or leadership roles, including hiring, training, and managing team performance.Managing workflows and meeting production goals.Coordinating logistics, such as shipment scheduling, manifest management, and supply chain oversight.Ensuring safety compliance and maintaining equipment or facility standards.Knowledge / Skills
Demonstrates excellence in leading, motivating, and developing teams to achieve production and organizational goals.Strong understanding of donation processing workflows, inventory management, and production optimization.Experience with shipment scheduling, manifest preparation, and managing equipment and supplies.Knowledge of workplace safety standards and the assertiveness to enforce protocols for a hazard-free environment.Excellent communication and analytical skills to address challenges, resolve issues, and implement improvements.Highly organized with excellent planning, collaboration and team building skills.Meets deadlines and is results-oriented while working with limited supervision.Holds themselves and their team accountable for achieving goals and addressing challenges directly.Maintains a safe work environment.Proficiently uses Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite. Valid driver’s license preferred.Experience in retail, production or hospitality management is preferred.
