Job Description
An employer is looking for an Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle. This individual will oversee the Capitation Manager, Government Program Manager, and Commercial Manager. The Assistant Director manages the daily operations of the hospital’s business office. This role ensures timely and accurate billing, collections, and other financial processes. It involves developing and implementing policies that align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values, while enhancing the patient financial experience. The Assistant Director leads the team to maintain compliance and meet productivity and quality standards, facilitates process improvements, and fosters staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct and recommend policies for hospital patient financial services operations.
• Oversee billing, collections, cash posting, and accounts receivable management, addressing inefficiencies.
• Monitor work queues to ensure timely account follow-up, prioritize tasks, and identify issues.
• Review aged and high-balance accounts, providing guidance on resolving difficult cases.
• Track staff productivity and performance, comparing results to goals and suggesting improvements.
• Develop, coach, and manage managers, fostering a team-oriented environment.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate billing and collections.
• Analyze data and prepare monthly reports on collections performance, payer reimbursement, and more.
• Address and resolve complaints, concerns, and suggestions.
• Serve as a liaison to internal departments, third-party agencies, and payers.
• Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to system modifications.
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners supporting office functions.
• Drive continuous improvement through strategic vendor partnerships.
• Evaluate vendors and technological solutions, assist in creating RFPs, and facilitate implementation.
• Monitor the performance of outside agencies, including conducting onsite visits.
• Assist in developing the annual budget for Capitation, Commercial, and Government Program departments.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure efficient resource use and budget adherence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards from governmental/regulatory agencies and third-party payers.

Skills and Requirements
• 5+ years of Business Office experience within Hospital AR management
• 3+ years experience managing a team of at least 2+ direct reports
• HS Diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to lead high level projects and experience training/coaching staff
• Proficient with EHR software • Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience with Cerner
• Experience with taking a fully on-site department to a hybrid or remote setting
