Assistant Director of Finance
Job Description

The Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF) serves as the head of the Accounting Department, overseeing daily operations, staff development, and personnel management. This role ensures compliance with company internal control policies, procedures, and government regulations. The ADOF maintains a comprehensive understanding of the hotel’s financial position and is responsible for ensuring that financial controls, records, contracts, and reporting are accurate, current, and compliant. This position also acts as the backup for the Director of Finance Business Partner.


The ideal candidate must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or hold a CMA certification, with a university degree majoring in Accounting and active membership in PICPA. He/she should also have continuous participation in updated accounting and tax training , and should have at least six years of experience in the Finance or Accounting Department of an international brand hotel. A minimum of four years experience in a similar leadership capacity and a strong knowledge of the lodging and hospitality industry is essential.


The Assistant Director of Finance oversees the Finance–Accounting Department’s daily operations, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and standards while recommending improvements as needed. He/she prepares timetables for monthly, yearly, and periodic reports, managing contract trackers, investigating and resolving accounting irregularities, assisting with budget preparation and reviewing purchase requisitions, supervising physical inspections of fixed assets, maintaining accurate finance files, insurance records, and tax data, and reviewing of employee work hour and overtime reports for accuracy.
