Assistant Director of Facilities, Hudson Yards Experiences
Responsibilities Position Summary The Assistant Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of all physical assets and facilities within Hudson Yards Experiences portfolio. The primary goal of this position is to ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for our guests and staff. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this position will manage planning and coordination of all installations and refurbishments, the upkeep of facility equipment and supplies to meet cleanliness and safety standards, and management of the audio/visual infrastructure of the attractions. This role requires a strong combination of leadership, technical expertise, project management, and organizational skills. Responsibilities Facility Management: Develop and implement comprehensive facility management strategies, including preventive maintenance programs, to ensure the optimal operation of all facilities. Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to a team of maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and other facility-related personnel. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts and monitoring their performance to ensure quality service delivery. Project Management: Plan and execute facility improvement projects, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely completion within budget. Sustainability Initiatives: Identify and implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact and reduce operational costs. Emergency Preparedness: In partnership with the Safety Manager, assist with developing and maintaining emergency response plans, conducting drills and training sessions to ensure staff readiness in case of emergencies. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, restaurant, special events, and marketing, to address facility-related issues and support the overall guest experience. Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, contractors, internal and external stakeholders. Communication: Responsible for timely and effective communication of service outages and planned maintenance work to internal and external HYE stakeholders. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated base salary range: $135,000 - $145,000 + Discretionary Bonus Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Proficiency in budgeting and resource management. Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Project management experience. Strong knowledge of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of leases, contracts and related documents.
