It is understood that such time and effort may exceed the limites of normal working hours. Requirements: + Must possess a valid NYS administrative certificate (SDA/SDL) or be eligible for the same; + Must possess an understanding of NYSED Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities; Must demonstrate expertise in Part 200 Regulations and development of quality compliant IEPs; + Must demonstrate expertise of Part 201 Regulations and disciplinary procedures for Students with Disabilities + Must possess an understanding of related service area programs and staff; + Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; + Must possess a broad background of educational experience in the area(s) of administration, supervision, teaching, and/or curriculum development; and + Experience as a building or district administrator preferred Description: Supports the Executive Director and Director of Pupil Personnel Services by providing administrative and technical assistance for the overall pupil services program in the District including: (1) planning and implementation of the Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities; and (2) oversight of behavioral and academic support programs for all students. Responsible for displaying the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel and agencies associated with the District/School. Job Duties: + Collect and analyze the District/School disproportionality data, suspension relates, and classification rates to support an action plan for improvement complete with evaluating the outcomes; serving as a member of the District Code of Conduct Committee; + Review of school building disciplinary documentation and procedures towards district compliance; Oversight of implementation of District policies, regulations, procedures, timelines, and protocols; + Participation in building level problem solving and professional development; lead special education team/PLC meetings; + Oversight, facilitation, and management of disciplinary processes and procedures for Students with Disabilities; participation in Long Term Superintendent’s Hearings; + Represent the District, when requested, in mediation, administrative hearings and court proceedings relating to special education, related services, student behavior, etc.; + Provide on-going professional development in research based instructional teaching learning strategies and supports for students with disabilities, related services or other school based supports; + Collaborate with Assistant Director of OOD to create long term plans for students’ return to district and implementation of Compliance Assurance Plan Procedures; + Conduct Pattern Determination & Manifestation Determination Review meetings per NYSED regulations; + Facilitate compliance with removal and suspension procedures through ongoing documentation audit/review; + Monitoring suspension and disciplinary data via the NY State Performance Plan and Pupil Data Reporting; + Oversight of CPSE-CSE Transition Process and Procedures (visits, staffing recommendations), including chairing CPSE & CSE meetings, analyzing and refining processes, managing registration and enrollment procedures, etc.; + Facilitate select Committee on Special Education meetings identified as having special circumstances, by Director of PPS in collaboration with building administrators; and + ?
