Overview:
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in providing strategic planning and effective management of initiatives and programs related to sustaining the mission of the Center for Justice and Liberation. The Assistant Director will assist in coordinating the university's effort to build and maintain a campus environment that is inclusive, pluralistic, and diverse. This person is responsible for the oversight and planning of the programs, workshops and training sessions that promote goals and values of a diverse, engaged and inclusive campus for students and the entire University community. The successful candidate is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a variety of constituent groups on campus (i.e. undocumented students, first generation, BIPOC, international students, LGBTQIA students and their allies, students with disabilities, etc.).
This person will help to develop and facilitate learning opportunities that affirm the university’s values focused on the awareness of and appreciation for racial, ethnic and cultural diversity, LGBTQIA students, overall campus climate, retention/academic success, and advocacy. The Assistant Director will assist in evaluating student learning outcomes and the effectiveness of the Center’s programs and trainings; assist in managing logistics, communications, and strategy for high-profile programs; and serve on internal and external committees relating to departmental vision. Other responsibilities include strategic advocacy and policy development; assistance on programs and initiatives focused on student success related to academic support and student services, awards/recognitions, student leadership, and educational, social, and cultural programs. The Assistant Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center for Justice and Liberation, and assists in hiring, supervising, and evaluating student employees.
The Assistant Director will provide leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation and assessment of a diverse and comprehensive range of services and programs, including coordination of social justice education and outreach programs for students, faculty and staff that engage the community and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Assistant Director will facilitate collaborative partnerships with a variety of constituents and assist student groups and organizations with educational programming and resources.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree.
2. Three to five years of work experience in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
3. Experience working with identity based organizations.
4. Experience as a presenter and/or training facilitator.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters degree.
2. One to five years of work experience in Higher Education.
Working Location:
