The University of Virginia seeks an Assistant Dean of Admission to support the recruitment and enrollment of transfer students. Reporting to a Senior Associate Dean of Admission, the Assistant Dean of Admission helps lead transfer admission recruitment, application review, and enrollment process.
The Enrollment division at UVA includes the Office of Undergraduate Admission, the Office of the University Registrar, Student Financial Services, and Commonwealth Partnerships. The Assistant Dean of Admission will join engaged, innovative colleagues working collaboratively to compete for talented students from all walks of life and to care for students from their first interaction with the University through Final Exercises and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement recruitment plans and communication strategies to meaningfully engage prospective transfer students.
On an annual basis, revise the transfer application process and timeline to ensure student-centered processes, requirements, and milestones
Organize the transfer application process including fulltime staff and part-time readers in the Office of Admission and staff in the eight undergraduate schools
Evaluate transfer applications for admission to UVA.
Promptly and clearly communicate with multiple UVA schools and offices about their transfer admission processes.
Conduct in-person and virtual information sessions for prospective transfer students. Represent the University and the Office of Admission across Virginia
Update and maintain accurate and current information on the OUA transfer website, ensuring content is relevant and student friendly.
Manage the UVA transfer admission blog for continuous updates on deadlines, transfer pathways, and frequently asked questions from prospective students and families.
Continuously evaluate and update information from each of UVA’s colleges on transferable courses, curriculum pathways, and advise the UVA Office of Admission of this information.
Assist with the Office of Undergraduate Admission Dean of the Day responsibilities
In collaboration with the Community College Partnerships team of the Commonwealth Partnerships unit:
Utilize evidence to evaluate transfer student enrollment from the Virginia Community College System and identify needs across specific campuses and regions within the VCCS.
Participate in the recruitment efforts to address these needs, organizing in-person and virtual meetings and information sessions to attract prospective students, and planning the annual on-grounds Transfer Open House and other programming.
Travel to the VCCS campuses, represent UVA at fairs, and engage with VCCS students, faculty, and staff to promote transfer pathways to UVA
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
At least three years of experience in admissions or related field or a total of eight years of experience in lieu of degree.

Collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Physical Demands:
The job does require traveling regularly throughout Virginia to attend meetings, and programs.
Position Type: This is an Exempt level, benefited position.
Location: In-Person located in Charlottesville, VA.
Anticipated Start Date: July 1st or sooner.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $55,000 - $63,000 commensurate with education and experience.

This position is a restricted position and has a term limit of 1-year with the possibility of 1 year extension.
