The Assistant Dean for Executive Education and Executive Director of the Center for Executive Development is a forward-thinking leader responsible for expanding and enhancing the executive education portfolio at Mays Business School. This role focuses on establishing strategic partnerships that increase the school’s global influence, designing impactful programs tailored to executive audiences, and ensuring measurable results for participants and their organizations. The Assistant Dean builds and maintains relationships with corporate and academic partners to promote program excellence and increase visibility. As part of the school’s leadership, this individual actively supports the mission of becoming the nation’s top public business school, fostering a culture that values innovation in research, teaching, and industry collaboration.
A Glimpse of the Job
Provide visionary leadership to enhance the organization, expand executive education offerings, and establish strategic partnerships
Provide vision, leadership, and oversight to the Center for Executive Development (CED), ensuring alignment with the vision, mission, values, and guiding principle of Mays Business School. Lead the growth of executive education programs, identifying emerging trends and opportunities. Forge new and strengthen existing partnerships with industry leaders, corporations, Mays faculty members, and global academic institutions to advance the school's reputation as a global authority in executive education. Work closely with the Dean of Mays Business School and the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration to oversee the financial health of CED, including budgeting, pricing, forecasting, and margin management to ensure long-term sustainability and growth through operational leadership and internal stakeholder coordination.
Design, implement, and promote innovative, high-impact executive education programs
Lead the academic development and enhancement of executive education curricula tailored to the evolving needs of executive learners. Ensure that program content is current, relevant, and achieves measurable outcomes for participants and their organizations. Incorporate systematic assessment tools to evaluate learning outcomes, client satisfaction, and organizational impact, and use insights to continuously refine program design and deliver. Oversee business development staff in regional locations. Ensure strong and consistent revenue growth for the organization. Leverage Mays’ Flex Online portfolio to begin to think of scalable learning experiences that extend Mays’ reach.
Foster and strengthen relationships with corporate and academic partners
Engage with external stakeholders to build long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Promote program offerings, enhance visibility, and facilitate collaborations that elevate the school's profile. Work closely with the Dean of Mays Business School, to whom you will directly report, to elevate CED. Engage with Mays faculty members to match instructional talent with executive education program needs. Build collaborative partnerships that support interdisciplinary initiatives.
Advance Mays Business School along the path to preeminence
Serve as a senior academic leader in initiatives that advance the school’s goal of becoming the nation’s #1 public business school. Contribute to a culture of excellence in research, teaching, and industry engagement within the Mays community. Serve as a strategic leader within the Mays leadership team, contributing to long-range planning, industry engagement strategy, and interdisciplinary initiatives across the school.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ A master’s degree in business or a related field
+ Six years of related senior administrative experience to include:
+ Substantial experience in leading and developing preeminent executive education programs
+ Experience leading or contributing to revenue-generating programs in higher education, including custom programs, open-enrollment programs, or corporate partnerships
+ Demonstrated experience of management skills, ideally in multiple industries and with multinational clients
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
+ Proven ability to initiate and lead strategic initiatives within academic and industry contexts
+ Exceptional teaching, mentoring, and public speaking skills
+ Expertise in stakeholder management, negotiation, and building long-term partnerships with corporate and academic entities
