We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Custodial Manager to oversee the day-to-day custodial operations and administrative functions for a key facility in Miami, FL. This role ensures compliance with contract requirements, maintains high standards of cleanliness and safety, and leads a team of custodial staff to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee custodial operations to ensure compliance with contract specifications and service level agreements. Manage staffing, scheduling, and payroll for assigned buildings. Provide hands-on support during staff shortages or call-offs—this is a critical part of the role. Conduct regular inspections and implement quality control measures. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure proper usage and storage. Interact with clients daily to address concerns, gather feedback, and identify service opportunities. Lead and develop custodial supervisors and team leads; provide coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols. Analyze operational and financial performance; implement cost control strategies. Submit accurate and timely reports, including payroll, labor variance, and operational updates. Attend company training workshops and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a service or customer-focused environment. At least 1 year of custodial or environmental services experience (healthcare or hospitality preferred). Experience with cost estimating and pricing services. Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and chemical handling procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid Florida driver’s license required. Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred. Leadership & Compliance: Supervise and evaluate team performance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Foster a positive work environment focused on safety, accountability, and service excellence. Ensure all documentation, including terminations and operational plans, is accurate and submitted on time.
