Assistant Counsel, Operations

Guardian Pharmacy is seeking a proactive and solutions-oriented Assistant Counsel, Operations to join our growing legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a junior or mid-level attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and values practical, business-minded legal support.
About the Role
As Assistant Counsel, you will be the first point of contact for our pharmacies across the country, providing day-to-day legal guidance and support. Your primary responsibilities will span healthcare compliance, contracts, employment matters, risk mitigation, and general business operations.
This role requires someone who is self-motivated, curious, and confident—someone who doesn't just identify issues but understands their root causes and partners with the business to craft effective, practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to pharmacy leadership on a broad range of legal and compliance issues
Conduct legal research, draft and review contracts, and support business negotiations
Assist in identifying legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
Respond to regulatory inquiries and support internal investigations
Educate pharmacy teams on legal requirements and best practices
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and other members of the legal department
What We're Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state
At least 5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally in healthcare, regulatory compliance, or a corporate in-house setting
Strong issue-spotting skills and the ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
Practical, business-minded approach to legal advice
Experience with research and risk mitigation strategies
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and initiative
