Job Title: Assistant Controller
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team and support our US manufacturing subsidiary within the recreational boat manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a sr. finance professional with strong leadership skills and solid accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing, for-profit environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the finance function and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Manage and provide guidance to a staff accountant and an accounts payable person.Oversee bookkeeping, month-end close, and reconciliations.Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and provide oversight for quarterly and year-end processes.Coordinate with the Swedish corporate office on group reporting, analysis, and financial updates.Support external audits and analyze financial performance, suggesting improvements.Provide insights on cash management and capital decisions.Conduct forecasting, profit analysis, and liquidity planning.Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting.Essential Skills
A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, controlling, or similar finance roles.Experience in the manufacturing industry (industrial or production-based).Strong intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with multi-tab workbooks, use formulas such as SUMIFS, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, and nested IF statements, and create pivot tables.Ability to follow and update structured financial workbooks for cash forecasting, reporting, and reconciliations.Basic data validation and troubleshooting skills.Experience working with exported reports from accounting systems and bank portals.Additional Skills & Qualifications
AS/BS in Business, Accounting, or Finance.Experience working in an international environment.Technical accounting skills and leadership experience.Strong communication skills and integrity.Problem-solving skills and a structured approach to work.Experience with Power BI and Power Query is helpful but not required.Cost accounting experience is beneficial.Work Environment
The work schedule is from 9 AM to 5 PM. The company operates using a software called FourthShift. The role involves a mix of 70% accounting and 30% finance tasks. The duration of the position is 90 business days. The company generates approximately $10 million in revenue.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edgewater, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
