Description
Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Boise, Idaho. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in corporate accounting and financial reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial data, supporting organizational processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with precision and timeliness.
• Oversee critical aspects of the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledgers and sub-ledgers across multiple entities to ensure financial accuracy.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper coding across divisions and entities.
• Analyze financial results and variances, providing detailed reports to leadership for decision-making.
• Compile monthly work-in-progress schedules across various entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Reconcile job cost and revenue accounts, ensuring proper revenue recognition procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with project managers to update project forecasts and improve the accuracy of financial projections.
• File monthly and quarterly state sales tax obligations promptly and accurately.
• Support project accountants and other teams across the organization with clear communication and a positive attitude.

Requirements • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate accounting.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger reconciliation.
• Experience in financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with construction accounting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista or similar accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
