Assistant Controller
Description We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Assistant Controller to join our financial team in Sugar Land, Texas. In this role, you will support the Financial Controller by overseeing essential accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing accurate and timely documentation during audits. • Monitor and strengthen internal controls to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Deliver accurate financial results and variance analyses to senior management within established deadlines. • Assist in developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing trends, and identifying variances to provide actionable insights. • Supervise and mentor accounting team members to foster growth and ensure high-quality work. • Promote collaboration within the team to enhance efficiency and knowledge-sharing across accounting functions. • Lead process improvements to optimize reporting accuracy and operational performance. • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting principles. • Experience with financial statement audits and compliance with regulatory standards. • Advanced knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar financial systems. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights. • Proven leadership abilities, including supervising and mentoring accounting staff. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
