Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in our organization's financial health, contributing significantly to the oversight of financial operations, accurate reporting, and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our financial data, optimizing processes, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making in the aerospace industry.\n\n•\tFinancial Reporting & Analysis:\no\tContribute to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and project profitability.\no\tAssist in analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement specific to aerospace production cycles.\n•\tInternal Controls & Compliance:\no\tManage and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records, especially in areas like inventory management, fixed assets, and revenue recognition relevant to long-cycle contracts.\no\tEnsure strict adherence to GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements pertinent to the aerospace industry.\no\tSupport the implementation and monitoring of compliance with government contracts and industry-specific regulations.\n•\tBudgeting & Forecasting Support:\no\tAssist in the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting, collaborating with operational teams to develop realistic and effective financial plans for manufacturing operations.\no\tMonitor budget versus actual performance, providing insights and explanations for variances.\n•\tAudit Management:\no\tServe as a key point of contact and support for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.\no\tEnsure all audit requests are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.\n•\tAccounting System & Process Improvement:\no\tIdentify and implement opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity, particularly within an ERP environment common in manufacturing.\no\tLeverage technology to streamline financial operations.\n•\tTeam Development:\no\tMentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.\n•\tCross-Functional Collaboration:\no\tWork closely with various departments, including production, engineering, procurement, and sales, to provide financial insights and support operational goals.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling) required.\n•\tAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n•\tStrong ethical compass and commitment to financial integrity.

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
