Description We are looking for a meticulous Assistant Controller to join our team in Clearwater, Florida. This role is ideal for a finance expert with a strong background in month-end processes, financial reporting, and compliance. You will oversee key accounting functions and lead a small team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Supervise and mentor two direct reports, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance. • Maintain control over the general ledger, including reconciliations and journal entries. • Prepare and review monthly reporting packages to support organizational decision-making. • Collaborate with auditors during financial statement audits to provide necessary documentation and insights. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. • Monitor and analyze financial data to support strategic planning and forecasting. Requirements • Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and general ledger accounting. • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and preparation of monthly reporting packages. • Experience in conducting or supporting financial statement audits. • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing direct reports. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
