Assistant Controller – Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Focus
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with deep expertise in cost accounting, manufacturing operations, and SAP ERP systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong technical accounting knowledge, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
+ Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
+ Prepare and review complex accounting transactions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
+ Research and resolve technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with evolving standards and regulations.
+ Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring readiness and successful outcomes.
+ Support the Controller in managing supplier contracts and ensuring operational compliance.
+ Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic planning.
+ Maintain accurate financial records and optimize accounting systems and processes.
+ Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data, implementing robust internal controls.
+ Perform cost accounting functions, including production cost analysis, cost variance tracking, and reporting.
+ Utilize SAP ERP for financial reporting, data analysis, and process optimization.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
+ 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
+ Strong experience in cost accounting and experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
+ Proficiency in SAP ERP and advanced Excel skills.
+ In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
+ Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
