GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing high-level support to the Global Corporate Controller as they manage Loram’s accounting and cost accounting activities on a global basis. The Assistant Controller consults with executives and high-level management to identify accounting and cost accounting issues and implement procedures to ensure accurate financial data and reporting. They collaborate with Global Corporate Controller to create and implement accountability systems and internal controls that prevent errors and inaccurate accounting documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operational Excellence
Directs accounting and cost accounting activities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures through the leadership of a team Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial data and reports for multiple domestic and global entities. Responsible for complex corporate consolidation in US GAAP involving numerous intercompany transactions for reporting to executive management, Board of Directors and parent company Provides oversight of the monthly close process including continuously looking for ways to drive process efficiencies and effectiveness Maintains hierarchy in ERP system for proper accounting and reporting that aligns with a growing structure with multiple domestic and global entities. Perform analytical review and summarize factors contributing to income statement, balance sheet and cash flow variances from budget and prior year Supports integration, reorganization and continuous improvement efforts. Partners with Legal and Tax to develop agreements to manage complex intercompany transactions.Leadership and Talent Development
Recruit, select and develop team members and ensure effective succession planning for all pivotal positions Managing the team by motivating and actively advocating for appropriate training and development. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Sets goals and priorities for the team that aligns with the company goals and strategy.Compliance
Provides oversight for significant capital spend; partners with functional leaders to ensure proper documentation and justification for capital requests; defines capital expenditure process and improvements; and directs determination of appropriate depreciation rates to apply to capital assets Reviews and assists in monitoring and establishing internal control procedures in the general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, inventory and manufacturing areas. Ensures financial integrity with company regulations, accounting standards, and reporting by staying current with accounting changes. Research for US GAAP and foreign entity accounting standards to ensure compliance while providing recommended course of action as required.Financial Management
Manages multiple external audits for several entities globally and manages relationships with audit firms. Ensures reporting is compliant with GAAP for applicable country, identifies and research GAAP differences in multiple countries.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting/finance
Experience: 10+ Years related experience in all aspects of accounting
Licenses/Certifications: CPA or CMA designation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven knowledge of accounting, audit, and financial principles, with strong understanding of US GAAP and proven ability to research global accounting standards and recommend course of action as required Proven ability to lead teams and manage in a global, dynamic environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven, progressive financial statement preparation and reporting experience Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks High level of accountability Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability and experience in managing complex processes Highly organized with keen attention to detail Strong aptitude of systems and software applications, with proficient skills using Microsoft applications A disciplined work ethic and advocate for Loram’s values, vision, and mission*In lieu of education 14+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.

Loram determines compensation based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base compensation.
Starting pay for the position is between $132,800.00 - $169,200.00
