Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Controller to join our team in Lancaster, New York. In this role, you will oversee essential financial operations, including cost accounting, compliance, and financial analysis, while contributing to strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: • Oversee cost accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to maintain smooth operations. • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. • Utilize accounting software and tools, such as Crystal Reports and Concur, to streamline financial processes. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities. • Monitor and improve billing functions to optimize revenue recognition. • Ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and other relevant financial guidelines. • Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. • Train and mentor accounting staff who are newer to the field to enhance team performance. Requirements Qualifications and Experience + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required) + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or public accounting + Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes + CPA or CMA preferred (or actively pursuing certification) + Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
