About this Role

FiberTel is looking for an Assistant Controller for our Springville, UT location.

 

We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing construction business. This role will work closely with the Controller and leadership team to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cost tracking, and strong internal controls. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team. A background in construction accounting is a plus but not required.

What You'll Do Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain general ledger accuracy and assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processesEnsure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal financial policiesCoordinate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and financial trackingAssist in the preparation of Work-in-Progress (WIP) reportsAid in developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies and proceduresPrepare and submit required tax filings (sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, etc.)Assist with audits and regulatory reportingIdentify opportunities for process improvements and automationPrepare ad-hoc financial analyses and executive-level reports What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA designation or progress toward CPA strongly preferred3+ years of progressive accounting experience (construction industry or public accounting a plus)Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsStrong Excel skills and data analysis abilitiesExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesHigh attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability and integrity What You'll Get
