Assistant Contracts Manager

The opportunity

The Assistant Contract Manager role is a critical Utilities senior leadership team (SLT) role responsible for the leadership, growth and operational oversight of single Water contracts, project, or joint venture with revenue below $35M.

 

What you’ll do

Management of SDC Contracts and any other assigned contracts to ensure contract performance meets customer requirements in terms of quality and timeframes.  Ensure resources and strategies are in place to manage financial and commercial risks aimed at achieving positive and sustainable outcomes High level of input into commercial aspects of contracts - including estimating, cost control and delivering required financial results People leadership, including talent management, resourcing, inclusion and retention Work with National Water team to identify opportunities for improvements in performance. Implementing commercial risk and issue management  Deliver strategic management of internal and external relationships, with a culture of value-added partnerships

What we’re looking for

Ideally a relevant tertiary level water/engineering related qualification  Strong Contract Management skills associated with maintenance/utilities contracts Commercial acumen including the ability to prepare progress and claim reports and to produce and interpret monthly financial reports to P&L level Understanding of, and experience with Job Management and Asset Management Systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience reporting to senior decision makers Exposure of mobilising large contracts and workforces on a greenfield and/or brownfield basis
