Assistant Chief Engineer

Operational

Works closely with other employees in a friendly and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and guest satisfaction.Cooperates with other departments in a supportive and flexible way.Carries out and completes all maintenance work/requests according to schedule, ensuring high quality workmanship, with special attention to guest-related tasks.Operates assigned machinery/equipment or “plant” to ensure continuous and consistent operation.Handles verification, storage, and use of all incoming goods according to established policies and procedures.Inspects, maintains, and services all AHUs (Air Handling Units).Handles guest air-conditioning requests in accordance with standards and procedures.Inspects, repairs, and maintains all refrigeration equipment.Maintains required data logs at frequencies determined by engineers.Prevents hazards and complies with all local regulations and legislation.Properly uses and maintains all electrical tools.Submits requests to the Engineering Team Leader for parts and consumables.Maintains cleanliness of all work areas and protects surroundings while performing duties.Ensures effective energy-saving measures in operational areas.Ensures functionality of fire, life safety, and security systems.Performs emergency procedures related to fire, life, and safety (e.g., fire alarm response, elevator rescue).Ensures timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.Reports any abnormalities in safety equipment or installations to the Engineering Team Leader.Assists other technicians as requested by supervisors.

Customer Service

Provides courteous and professional service at all times.Handles guest and employee inquiries courteously and efficiently; reports complaints or issues when no immediate solution is available, ensuring prompt follow-up.Maintains positive interactions with guests and colleagues, fostering good working relationships.

Personal

Supports and promotes Hyatt’s company values.

Other Duties

Attends and contributes to all required training sessions and meetings.Conducts themselves professionally at all times, representing the hotel team and Hyatt International positively.Maintains strong professional relationships with representatives of competing hotels, business partners, and other organizations.Reads, understands, and complies with the hotel’s employee handbook, policies, and procedures, particularly those related to IT resources, fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety.Maintains a high standard of personal appearance and grooming.Performs various operational tasks as assigned by managers from time to time.Adapts to changes in the engineering function as dictated by the industry, company, and hotel.Performs any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
