About this team

Reporting to the Senior Buyer/Buying Manager, Regional Merchandising, the Assistant Buyer will be accountable for item creation, purchase order maintenance, on-order tracking and management, accurate data entry and maintenance in various systems in relation to regional merchandise management. This person will support the regional buying team to deliver “right product, right stores, right time” and offers a great opportunity for the candidate to grow within the merchandising function.

A day in the life Support the regional buying team to execute the seasonal buying strategies that achieve sales, gross margin and inventory productivity goals through all channels (stores, ecommerce, strategic sales, & showrooms).Execute purchase order management, price management, item creation, on-order reporting and product flow reportingAssist the regional buying team in managing the regional line plan; including flow, weekly stories, cancellations and shifts in the business. Proactively collaborate with cross-functional partners; including planning, allocations, production, catalogue, digital, visual merchandising and logistics, to gather key information that support merchandising decisionsSupport role to the buying team; including ad-hoc reporting, market research and other miscellaneous projects as needed

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (Business, commerce or fashion merchandising preferred)  Merchandise management / buying experience in retail business highly desirableStrong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret multiple data points across numerous channels and market segmentsExcellent sense of style and color trends; athletically mindedExcellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal Entrepreneurship – a willingness to learn and make decisions and take calculated risksFocus on creating an extraordinary guest experience, organizational and time management skillsStrong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)Self-awareness, with a desire for constant self-improvement (goal-oriented)
