Assistant Bar Manager

PURPOSE: 

The Assistant Bar Manager is familiar with a wide variety of drink recipes and can deliver excellent customer services. Responsible for maintaining a culture of food and drink exploration, innovation and dedication for customers and employees. The Assistant Bar Manager is responsible for managing servers and bartenders, serving patrons at our bar, monitoring the cash drawer at the bar and performing alcohol inventories at the end of each night to help maintain proper inventory levels. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Oversee the daily operations of the bar, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service. Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability. Train and supervise bartenders and other bar staff. Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Create a culture of food exploration, innovation and education for guests and employees. Deliver a consistently high level customer service to each customer and maintain a safe environment by identifying any issues. Keep the bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department. Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally. Mix all drinks based on the servings sizes as outlined in the company manual to keep drink costs at a minimum. Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the customers at the bar satisfied at all times. Uphold set standard and enforce food and drink preparations and handling ensuring compliance with company food safety policy.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 

The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory, and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position**: 

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must maintain state Food Handler’s Permit. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Bartender Must maintain a current Bartender License. Must have excellent communication skills. Interact with customers in a professional manner. Greeting customers with finesse and charm. Computer literacy and knowledge of Word Perfect and Excel is preferred.  Willing to be educated further about wines and beers.  Ability to understand and follow instructions, and ability to read, retain and comprehend. Ability to use basic math skills.  Self-motivated professional with a drive to increase knowledge of Albertsons products. Ability to work collaboratively as a team player with strong interpersonal skills.  Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.  Must be at least 21 years old.  Must be organized, detail oriented, accurate and have good time management skills.  Ability to multitask while working under stress and time constraints.  Reports to work in proper uniform per company policy. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled store environment. Occasional exposure to outdoor environment with varying temperatures
