As the Assistant Bakery Manager, you’ll support daily bakery operations, ensure policy compliance, and help create a friendly, consistent, and high‑quality customer experience. You’ll assist with production goals, inventory, merchandising, and stocking, while serving as a positive role model for your team. Main responsibilities:
Support daily bakery operations and maintain strong customer service. Supervise Bakers, Cake Decorators, and Clerks; provide training and feedback. Assist in meeting sales, labor, shrink, production, and inventory goals. Ensure product quality, merchandising standards, accurate pricing, and freshness. Order products, receive deliveries, and manage inventory levels. Lead the department when the Bakery Manager is absent. Use store systems and ensure compliance with company and safety policies. Support safety initiatives and assist with audits. Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Soft skills: Customer‑focused and responsive Strong communication and teamwork Calm, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented Professional and collaborative Competencies: Leadership and basic supervisory skills Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making Ability to manage multiple priorities General understanding of retail/bakery operations Knowledge: Food safety and standard bakery procedures Basic bakery products and production steps Inventory, ordering, merchandising, and shrink basics Abilities: Lead 2–30 associates and support daily workflow Schedule, assign, and review tasks Recognize and address unsafe conditions Perform stocking, rotation, and bakery tasks Educational requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Travel requirements: Occasional travel for training or development Other requirements: Minimum age 18 Flexible availability (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays) Able to work in warm bakery areas and cold coolers/freezers Able to perform repetitive tasks Must follow food safety and PPE requirementsWe also provide a variety of benefits including:
